This year, the MOC München hosted the Munich High End Show from 9th to 12th May.
In Room 1 the main system was the Air Tight ATC-5 - the new latest preamp - and the jaw-dropping ATM-300R with the top of the line 300B tubes; just 8W+8W. The turntable was a Transrotor ZET-3 and the speakers were Wolf von Langa WVL 12639 SON. This room was fantastic! The ATM-300R is the most musical 300B amplifier I have ever heard in my 32 years in this profession, and consider it the best amp I have ever heard ever. Period. It just massacred some even more expensive amps. This amp for sure is coming very soon to Absolute Phase.
Room 2 had the bigger brothers of Air Tight, namely the Reference Monoblock ATM-3211 amps, the new ATM-2211 SET monoblock amps with the new ATE-3011 Phono Eq. The system was powered by either of these two monoblock amps and the pre was again a ATC-5. The speakers were the reference Wolf von Langa WVL 33221 Berlin. This room, however, was no match to Room 1!
Air Tight is exclusively imported and distributed by Absolute Phase in India.
At the Audio Analogue booth, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Guiesseppe Blanda and his son Stefano Blanda, the chief designers of AA. Edgar, who happens to be Absolute Phase's first AA customer in India, from way back in 1995, still has the Original Puccini Int amp which still works perfectly (the Audio Analogue company started with this amp), and was thrilled to take a picture with the owners of AA at the show
On static demo was the entire range of AA & Pegasus products. In AA, they had the AAcento Int amp, Puccini Anniversary Int amp, Maestro Anniversary Int Amp, Bellini Anniversary Pre amp, Donizetti Anniversary Power amp and also the AA Phono stage and the new AA DAC with all the lids removed, so one could see the fantastic build quality of these wonderful Italian products. Also very interesting was the Pegasus Pure Class A 50W Tube Int Amps which looked gorgeous in black or silver (coming soon to Absolute Phase).

On demo was DeVore's latest reference loudspeaker, the Orangutan Reference : O/REF. A four-tower loudspeaker with active bass cabinets, powered with a Class D 700w amp built by John, this was driven by some amazing tube electronics and Frank Schroder TT. All cables were the statement cables from Tellurium Cables. What John did in this room with all the difficulties was not easy, but he did a damn good job! This room in a booth was one of the best sounds of the show and we kept coming back to refresh our ears time and again. In all, this system just blew us away.
These wonderful speakers are priced at US$ 90,000 a pair, and we can’t wait for our shipment of the lower model, the Orangutan O/96 (the reference just before this launch) to come to Absolute Phase. This model will be on permanent demo at Absolute Phase.
We're thrilled to exclusively represent DeVore Fidelity in India.
At the show there was a new launch which was the ION-001 Vinyl ionizer. This reduces static energy from LP’s. Welcome to the Zero Static World. Also on static demo was the DS-E1 Optical Cartridge and in another room their Reference cartridge the DS Master 1 was in a live demo.
We had the pleasure of meeting the President of Esoteric, Mr. Hiroshi Oshima, and Mr. Tsuyoshi Sugiura, Manager of Esoteric & Teac.
On demo at the room was their reference system. A lot of new products were showcased and included the new unique innovations namely the new VRDS-ATLAS Transport and the new in-house designed discreet DAC Circuitry.
Also on static demo was the XP-12 preamp, XA-25 Pure Class A 25W Power Amp and the INT-60 Integrated amp.
